Fallen Panther: Cynthia (Doroga) O'Hearn

 Fallen Panther Update:

Cynthia O'Hearn Obituary

Cynthia Lore O’Hearn, age 68, passed away due to complications from breast cancer surrounded by her loving family on July 3, 2024. Cindy was born on September 2, 1955, in Berwyn, IL, to the late Paul and Lorraine Doroga. Married to Michael for 49 years; Sister to Dennis (Donna) Doroga; Mother to Daniel (Kelly), Joseph (Tabitha), and James (Carolyn); Grandmother to Juliahna, Owen, Nolan, Haleigh, Jameson, Declan, and the late Colin O’Hearn.

After marrying her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Mike, on January 11, 1975, in Hillside, IL, Cindy and Mike moved to Arcata, California where Mike attended college. Their family of two grew to three when Daniel was born in 1978. They returned to Illinois in 1979, where Joseph was born in 1983. Shortly after, the family moved to Davisburg, MI, and completed their family with the birth of their third son, James, in 1984.

Cindy loved raising her family on Big Lake and dedicated her life to providing and caring for them. She worked as an accountant for a John Deere dealership before venturing out on her own with Primerica Financial Services, where she enjoyed many successful years as a Personal Financial Adviser and rose to the position of Regional Vice President. She left her career to join son Joe in running Mel’s Grill (Clarkston) in 2007 and later joined son Jim in running Buck Shots Bar & Grill (Clarkston) in 2013. She loved working alongside two of her sons every day, mentoring staff, and connecting with customers.

Cindy cherished her time with family. Her grandchildren were the center of her universe. They made her so proud all of the time and, if you ever spent time with her, she probably told you so. She deeply appreciated the special moments in life and encouraged those around her to do the same. Whether it be a school recital, a pontoon boat ride around the lake, or a drink on the patio, her love and warmth always radiated to those around her. It's been said that everyone who knew Cindy loved her. And if they didn’t love her, then they didn’t really know her.

Family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 3 to 8pm and on Sunday, July 7 from 9am to 1pm at Coats Funeral Home in Clarkston. A luncheon will be held at Buck Shots Bar & Grill immediately following Sunday’s services. Interment will be held privately with her family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
